The women’s Olympic hockey game between Canada and Finland, scheduled for Thursday, has been postponed after Finnish players fell ill with the norovirus.
The game has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 12 (2:30 p.m. ET) at Milano Rho Ice Hockey Arena
“The International Olympic Committee, the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee, the International Ice Hockey Federation, Team Finland and Team Canada confirm that the game between Team Finland and Team Canada in the women’s Olympic ice hockey competition scheduled to take place today has been postponed,” the Games Organizing Committee said in a statement.
Finland practised with just eight skaters and two goaltenders. Finnish Ice Hockey Association spokesperson Henna Malmberg said the remaining 13 players are either infected or in quarantine.
The first game Team Canada will play now is against Switzerland on Saturday at 3:10 p.m. ET.
