The Toronto Tempo selected Julie Allemand with their first pick of the WNBA expansion draft on Friday.

The five-foot-eight guard was taken from the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Portland Fire chose Bridget Carleton of Chatham, Ont., with the first overall pick.

The Tempo picked Julie Allemand, formerly of the Los Angeles Sparks, in the 2026 WNBA Expansion Draft. See Toronto’s full drafted roster.

Toronto won a coin toss last week and elected to take the higher pick — sixth instead of seventh — in the WNBA Draft on April 13.

As a result, the Fire got to pick first overall in the expansion draft.

The Tempo will tip off their season on May 8 against the Washington Mystics at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.
