Dolci: ‘Keep the faith up and push yourself’
Félix Dolci of Laval, Que., spoke with CBC Sports’ Marissa Papaconstantinou after winning a silver medal in the men’s gymnastics all-around final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Félix Dolci improved on his previous Commonwealth Games result, moving from fourth place at the last Games to the silver-medal position in today’s men’s all-around final.
Speaking with CBC Sports’ Marissa Papaconstantinou after the competition, Dolci reflected on a day that tested his resilience. He started strong on floor exercise, saying he felt confident, before facing a major setback on pommel horse.
“In my mind, I was like, listen, this is going to be a tough comeback. I wanted to show to the people that no matter what happens, the score — specifically early on in competition — you gotta keep going, keep the faith up and push yourself. And that’s exactly what I did.”
Dolci responded with a strong finish, delivering a big horizontal bar routine in the final rotation to secure the silver medal.
“I would be lying to you if I told you I was not a little bit disappointed by today’s performance overall. I didn’t give up, and that’s really what I’m proud of today.”
Looking ahead to the apparatus finals, Dolci said he’s embracing a “brand new day” mindset, aiming to attack each event with the desire to win.
