Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk will undergo surgery to repair a left thumb fracture.

Manager John Schneider says the procedure is scheduled for Tuesday.

There’s no timeline yet on how long Kirk might be out of action.

He was placed on the 10-day injured list over the weekend after suffering the injury Friday in a road game against the Chicago White Sox.

Kirk’s thumb was also dislocated after he took a foul tip to his catching hand.

The two-time all-star hit .282 last season with 15 homers and 76 runs-batted in.
