Canada wins FIBA 3×3 Basketball Women’s Series Final for record 3rd time

The Canadian women’s 3×3 basketball team won a record third FIBA Women’s Series Final on Sunday in Shanghai.

Paige Crozon of Humboldt, Sask., Katherine Plouffe of Edmonton, Saicha Grant-Allen of Hamilton and Cassandra Brown of Vernon, B.C., defeated Azerbaijan 21-12 to claim the 2025 title.

Crozon led the way with a game-high nine points, going three-for-three from two-point range.

Brown scored six including the game winner, while Plouffe had a game-high five rebounds to go with three points.

Canada wreaked havoc from two-point range to take an early 10-2 lead and overcame strong performances from Alexandra Mollenhauer and Brianna Fraser to seal the victory.

Canada claims FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Final win over Azerbaijan

Canada defeated Azerbaijan in the final of the FIBA Women’s 3×3 Basketball Series 21-12 in Shanghai Sunday.

The Canadians won two of their three pool games to directly qualify for the semifinals, which saw them beat Spain 21-11.

They also defeated Azerbaijan 21-13 in their opener, followed by a 16-15 loss to CS Rapid and a 17-9 win over the Netherlands’ under-25 team.

Canada won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023 before finishing third last year.
