Dodgers defeat Jays 5-1 to even the World Series 1-1

1st inning trouble for Yamamoto was ‘best chance’: Schneider

Following the Game 2 loss, Blue Jays manager John Schneider was asked about how Toronto’s lineup had done trying to take on Yamamoto.

The Jays skipper said his team had a first-inning rally — via a leadoff double from George Springer, immediately followed by a single from Nathan Lukes — that fizzled, which was a rare moment of vulnerability for Yamamoto.

“That was probably our best chance — you know, first and third, and nobody out,” Schneider said. “After that, it was kind of few and far between.”

Toronto scored a run against Yamamoto in the third inning, but that was the only run to come in for the Blue Jays in the 5-1 loss to the Dodgers.

Schneider acknowledged Yamamoto’s “really good performance” against the Blue Jays in Game 2.
