Jets superstar winger Kyle Connor has signed a long-term deal to stay in Winnipeg.
The team announced Wednesday it has agreed to terms with Connor on an eight-year contract extension for $96 million (an average annual value of $12 million).
The 28-year-old was the Jets’ first-round pick (17th overall) in the 2015 NHL draft and has become one of the league’s elite scorers. Last season he led the team in points (97) and assists (56) while playing in all 82 regular season games.
He also played all 13 post-season games for the Jets, leading the club in points (17) and assists (12). His five goals tied for the team high.
The Michigan native’s 97 points last season also put him in the NHL’s top 10 (seventh spot) while his 41 goals had him tied for seventh. He was named to the 2024-25 NHL first all-star team.
Since becoming a full-time NHLer in 2017-18, Connor has scored at least 30 goals in seven seasons and eclipsed 60 points six times.
He has 582 points (284 goals, 298 assist) in 613 career NHL games.
In 2022, he won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy as “the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.”
