Canada’s Maeliss Trapeau will run in the women’s 800-metre semifinals, which start at 7:43 a.m. ET.

Trapeau placed third in her opening-round heat today to automatically advance, while Jazz Shukla was eliminated after finishing sixth in her heat.

Although no Canadians managed to advance to them, the 200m finals headline Friday’s slate. The men’s race goes at 9:06 a.m. ET, followed by the women’s at 9:22 a.m. ET.

Canadian Moh Ahmed is no longer listed as a starter in the men’s 5,000m heats, beginning at 7 a.m. ET. The 2021 Olympic silver medallist dropped out of last weekend’s 10,000m race with about 2K left due to a calf injury.

No Canadians are involved in the other finals on Day 7: the men’s triple jump at 7:50 a.m. ET, men’s 400m hurdles at 8:15 a.m. ET and women’s 400m hurdles at 8:27 a.m. ET.

The decathlon, featuring Canadians Damian Warner and Pierce LePage, and the women’s shot put, with Canada’s Sarah Mitton, get underway on Friday night in Canadian time zones.
