Local favourite Christina Black has a berth in the women’s final of the Canadian curling trials in Halifax.

She upset second-ranked Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Man., 6-3 in today’s semifinal at Scotiabank Centre.

The 21st-ranked Black, from Halifax, scored three points in the ninth end and ran Einarson out of rocks in the 10th.

She will meet world No. 1 Rachel Homan of Ottawa in a best-of-three final starting Friday.

The men’s semifinal between Mike McEwen’s Saskatoon team and Matt Dunstone’s Winnipeg side is Thursday at 6 p.m. ET.

The winner meets the Calgary-based rink skipped by Brad Jacobs.
