2026 Olympic Games: Canada chases gold in short-track speed skate on Day 10

What to know about the Olympics today

Welcome to Day 10 of the 2026 Milano-Cortina Games. Today, Canada could add to its gold-medal count, led by short-track star Courtney Sarault, who won bronze in the 500-metre and silver in the mixed relay.

In freestyle skiing, Megan Oldham — fresh off slopestyle bronze — is another medal hopeful. She qualified first in women’s big air, ahead of defending Olympic champion Eileen Gu of China. Naomi Urness, who leads the World Cup standings, has also reached the final.

There’s bound to be more excitement in the curling world with three games set for Team Canada, two for Team Homan and one against Czechia for Team Jacobs. Both men and women’s teams face double-touching accusations that have set the internet ablaze.

In figure skating, pairs Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud delivered a surprise third-place short program and will skate in the final flight.

And the women’s hockey team hits the ice in its second playoff game — a semifinal matchup against Switzerland. Will captain Marie-Philip Poulin be back again? Stay tuned.

Here’s what to watch:

  • Short-track speed skating: Courtney Sarault, Kim Boutin and Florence Brunelle in the women’s 1,000-metre (final at 6:47 a.m. ET).
  • Freestyle skiing: Megan Oldham and Naomi Urness in the women’s big air final at 1:30 p.m. ET.
