The Canadian women’s rugby sevens team advanced to the Cup semifinals of the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong SVNS event with a win over the U.S. on Saturday.

Charity Williams had a pair of tries and Savannah Bauder added another as Canada scored a 19-7 win over the American team at Kai Tak Sports Park.

The Canadians will face New Zealand in the semifinals on Sunday. The Black Ferns went 3-0 in pool play before taking a 32-5 win over Spain in the Cup quarterfinals.

Canada began their tournament with two wins and one loss in pool play, beating Great Britain 41-7 and South Africa 31-0 before falling 19-17 to Australia.
