Jordyn Rhodes and Julianne Vallerand scored second-half goals to lead Halifax Tides FC past Ottawa Rapid FC 3-1 on Saturday in the Northern Super League season opener for both teams.

Rhodes’ goal at the 78-minute mark put Halifax ahead 2-0 before Ottawa’s Nicola Golen scored two minutes later. But Vallerand restored the two-goal advantage at the 84-minute mark.
