Botswana’s Busang Collen Kebinatshipi wins the men’s 400m in a time of 43.92 seconds, a meeting record at the Diamond League event in Xiamen, China. Christopher Morales Williams of Maple, Ont., finished sixth in a time of 45.24.

Morales Williams, 21, won gold at the world indoor championships in March setting a new championship-record time of 44.76 seconds.

The Canadian ran the fastest short track time in history — 44.49 seconds — in 2024 but it could not be ratified as a world record due to an issue with the starting blocks.
