Canada’s Cynthia Appiah earned silver in women’s monobob at the IBSF World Cup in Winterberg, Germany on Saturday, matching her career-best showing.

Appiah, from Toronto, finished with a two-heat time of one minute 58.53 seconds.

Germany’s Laura Nolte took gold in 1:58.37 for her second women’s monobob World Cup win of the season and her fifth medal in five tries. Germany’s Lisa Buckwitz picked up bronze in 1:58.57.

Former Canadian competitor Kaillie Humphries led the way for the United States with a fifth-place finish.

Melissa Lotholz of Barrhead, Alta., tied with American Elana Meyers Taylor for sixth, while reigning world champion Kaysha Love of the U.S. placed eighth.
