Vancouver’s co-captain scored on a penalty kick, leading the Rise to their first NSL victory by downing the Halifax Tides 2-1.

Despite being outshot 17-7 (3-3 on target), Vancouver held the edge in possession (51 per cent to 49) and had more touches and accurate passes.

The Tides had seven corners and only two offsides. The Rise had three corners, four offsides and two yellow cards.
