Scherzer watching everything closely
Max Scherzer is paying close attention to everything happening on Saturday night, with an eye to what he’ll be facing when he takes the mound for Toronto in Game 3 on Monday.
“Any time you have a chance to watch what’s going on, you can always learn something,” Scherzer said Saturday, when speaking to media ahead of Game 2 at Toronto’s Rogers Centre.
Scherzer, a two-time World Series champion, also spoke of his determination to compete for another championship.
“I’m here to win,” Scherzer said.
The 41-year-old Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, has played for seven teams over his 18-season career in Major League Baseball. But this is his first season with Toronto.
