Blue Jays offence does its thing
Known for contact, patience and depth all season, the Blue Jays’ offence came through once again in the sixth inning.
A three-run rally included RBI singles from the seventh and ninth batters in the lineup and a bases-loaded walk.
Methodically, the Blue Jays wore down Dodgers starter Snell, then took advantage of the bullpen, getting to Sheehan for two hits and a walk while he recorded just one out.
Toronto’s depth struck again, in a different way, when Addison Barger came on to pinch-hit for Davis Schneider, leading Dodgers manager Dave Roberts to bring in another reliever in Anthony Banda.
Suddenly, a tight 2-2 game is now a 5-2 lead with the Blue Jays firmly in control.
