ISU Figure Skating: Grand Prix France – Ice Dance Rhythm Dance

Watch Canada’s Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac compete in the ice dance rhythm dance during the second day of the ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix France in Angers.

Next up is the women’s free program at 8:40 a.m. ET. On Friday, Ami Nakai took the lead ahead of three-time world champion Kaori Sakamoto in the women’s short program.

In her Grand Prix debut, former world junior bronze medalist Nakai landed the competition’s only triple axel jump at the start of her program on her way to a score of 78 points.

ISU Figure Skating: Grand Prix France – Women’s Free

Watch the women’s free program during the second day of the ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix France in Angers.

The men’s short program is at 12:10 p.m. ET while the pairs free program is at 2 p.m. ET.

The pairs event features a battle for Grand Prix gold between two sets of world champions. Japan’s Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara (79.44) led the short program ahead of Canada’s Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps (74.26).

The Grand Prix de France is the first of six regular season Grand Prix events building to a final in December. The series is a key competitive test for top-level skaters eyeing medals at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in February.
